DTN COMMENTS: Cash cattle country is slow to start this morning, but we
may see some packer inquiries at some point today, especially in the
South. Although it sounds like the bulk of business could essentially be
done for the week. Some asking prices are around $232-plus in the South.
Beef cutouts are expected to be mixed with light to moderate box
movement.
So far this week, Northern dressed deals have had a range of $355 to
$362, mostly $360, $2 higher than last week's weighted average basis
Nebraska. Southern live business has been done at $230 to mostly $232, $4
below the prior week's weighted averages.
NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to call DTN with any cattle sales, at
1-402-461-3561. All sales will be listed anonymously and organized by
state. All live sales are FOB and set for 1-9-day delivery. A weekly
summary from this data will be posted on the Weekly Cattle Sales Reported
to DTN page and will be left up for the entire week for reference
purposes.
