Agrisure Viptera 3111

(The Agrisure Viptera Trait + Agrisure 3000GT)

The Agrisure Viptera 3111 trait stack controls more insects than any other product on the market. It features demonstrated, unsurpassed multi-pest control of 14 yield- and quality-robbing insects including corn borer, corn rootworm and the multi-pest complex, a collection of insects that cost American corn growers more than $1.1 billion annually in lost yield and grain quality*. The Agrisure Viptera 3111 trait stack offers the broadest available spectrum of above- and below-ground insect control. This  stack also offers the same herbicide flexibility as the Agrisure 3000GT triple stack, with a choice of either glyphosate or glufosinate applications.
 
The Agrisure Viptera trait is the newest addition to Syngenta’s Agrisure system of high-performance traits. Agrisure Viptera trait technology features Vip3A, a new mode of action that has demonstrated breakthrough control of the multi-pest complex.
 
In Syngenta trials, hybrids with the Agrisure Viptera 3111 trait stack provided an average yield advantage of 14.3 bu/A vs. traditional triple stack hybrids under significant corn earworm pressure. In areas of extremely heavy corn earworm pressure, the yield advantage increased to up to 32 bu/A**.
 
 
Products containing the Agrisure Viptera trait will not be available for sale prior to Syngenta obtaining all necessary import approvals.

Agrisure Artesian technology represents the industry’s first
water-optimized corn technology and is the newest addition to the Agrisure® family of high-performance trait products.

 Corn hybrids with Agrisure Artesian technology have the potential to deliver 15% yield preservation under moisture stress.

With Agrisure Artesian technology: 

Western Corn Belt growers can use available moisture more efficiently, resulting in higher yields on water-stressed acres including dryland and limited-irrigation farms.

  • Central and Eastern Corn Belt growers can help stabilize yields in years of inconsistent rainfall or in fields with variable soil types and/or low soil moisture-holding capacity.
  • Hybrids with Agrisure Artesian technology demonstrate no yield drag under favorable growing conditions.

 HOW IT WORKS:

Gene Association Mapping, a Syngenta technology process, allows Syngenta to identify and select multiple genes within the corn genome that have distinctive modes of action and are responsible for drought protection mechanisms in corn. These multiple genes are then introduced into elite germplasm for testing and evaluation in a variety of managed stress environments including dryland, limited irrigated, irrigated and non-irrigated high yield.

Syngenta’s unique multiple modes of action approach allows the plant to yield more under water stress conditions throughout the growing season. Plant performance is enhanced regardless of which stage of development the plant is in when water stress occurs.

 

The Agrisure 3000GT triple stack provides the ultimate in yield protection and the flexibility to choose management practices that meet individual needs.

 
Agrisure 3000GT Advantages
 

*  In 2005-2007 field trials, corn hybrids with the protection of the Agrisure RW trait yielded an average of 27.9 bu/A more than the negative isoline in areas of heavy corn rootworm infestation.

 

* In areas of very heavy rootworm pressure, the average yield increase rose to 56 bu/A.

* The Agrisure GT trait, through the proven GA21 event, provides hybrids with excellent tolerance to glyphosate herbicides at even six times the labeled rate.

 

* Hybrids that feature Agrisure CB/LL technology have shown an average yield advantage of more than seven bushels per acre, versus non-Bt versions of the same hybrid.

* Results from 2007 Iowa State University corn rootworm trials illustrate the importance of technology integration to bring together genetics and traits for higher yields (link to PDF)

Hybrids with the Agrisure GT trait  are an excellent choice for refuge acres. These hybrids offer growers a full range of assurances and the freedom to choose their preferred glyphosate brand.
 
Corn hybrids with the Agrisure GT trait exhibit outstanding tolerance to in-crop applications of glyphosate-based herbicides - the active ingredient in Roundup and Touchdown brand herbicides. Glyphosate controls weeds by inhibiting EPSPS, a key enzyme necessary for photosynthesis. The Agrisure GT trait causes the corn hybrid to overproduce EPSPS so it can withstand applications of glyphosate with minimal damage to the crop or resulting grain.
 
Corn hybrids with the Agrisure GT trait are carefully selected to provide not only outstanding glyphosate tolerance via the trait, but also to preserve the genetic potential of the hybrid via the proven inbred line conversion process. This dual focus results in new choices of corn hybrids that deliver best in class performance with minimal concerns about either crop safety or yield drag.
 

Glyphosate Label Recommendations

Manufacturers of glyphosate herbicides are responsible for establishing all use directions, including application timing and rates on glyphosate-tolerant crops. Growers are always advised to read and follow label instructions before buying and using these products.
